Photos from The Arts on Eggs Museum in Zengovarkony, 188 kms south of Budapest, Hungary. The decoration of eggs is an integral part of folk traditions related to Easter in Hungary as it developed through time into an autonomous art form.
Decorated eggs are made, collected and exhibited as works of art independently from the traditional festive occasion. The works of the Hungarian egg painters are exhibited in regional units. Some Israeli, Chinese and Indonesian pieces are seen, too. Pieces of popular and applied arts are displayed in the glass-cases as well.
