Sorry is not the hardest word for Pope Francis

Pope Francis in January met and shook hands with the woman at whom he lost his patience after being grabbed in St. Peter’s Square Dec. 31.

According to a report on TgCom, the Pope wanted to meet her to apologise in person.

It is understood that Pope Francis sorry for what had happened a few days later asked to seek for the woman.

After his general audience Jan. 8, Pope Francis spoke briefly with the woman. In photos the two can be seen smiling at each other as they shake hands. A priest standing near the woman appears to be acting as interpreter.

The two met during what is called the “baciamano,” a time reserved for certain pilgrims to greet the pope following an audience.

The photo that portrays them smiling was taken at the end of a general audience in the classroom Paolo Sesto. There was a brief conversation between the two and the Pope’s personal apologies, which were added to those that Francis had publicly expressed at the New Year’s Angelus. At the end of the meeting the woman also had the blessing she asked for.
