Two aerial transport workers unions have warned they will be striking in Spain this week.

The USO and UGT unions went to Spanish airports and asked around 60,000 ground crew to go on strike from the 21st to the 24th of April. They want to reinforce their demand for workers to keep their rights when they move from one company to another.

The Sepla union for pilots has called for Air Nostrum pilots to go on strike on the 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th of April to protest the externalisation of flights to other airlines within the same group, Ilai. Ilai is based in Ireland and Malta. Around 10,000 passengers will be affected.

The Sepla strike will force Air Nostrum to cancel 148 flights next week.

Meanwhile, the train drivers’ union, Renfe, has called off a stoppage planned for April 23rd saying bosses have made concessions with regard to some of their demands.
