Storms bring floods to Spain

Up to 297 litres per square meter have been registered in 24 hours in Ontinyent, the highest register in the last century.

The Spanish weather service AEMET is predicting up to 200 liters of rainfall per square meter (10 sq. feet) between Thursday and Friday on the Mediterranean coast regions of Valencia, Murcia and Alicante.

No injuries were reported.

The ‘gota fria’ or cold drop is affecting the Mediterranean coast with strong winds and rainfalls of 100 liters per square meter.
