What follows is a roundup of the other main news from Malta as reported by local Portals.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has declared Government’s vision as being that of free public transport for everyone. Dr Muscat stated that this will be possible when the infrastructure can support an increase in the number of buses.

Speaking at a political activity in Marsa, Dr Muscat noted that since the beginning of school, the usual traffic problems did not materialise. The Prime Minister stated that this was the result of investment being made on roads, and urged for coordination so evident in past weeks to continue in the coming weeks. Dr Muscat added that the reduction in traffic was also due to Government’ measures to provide free transport for students. The Prime Minister stated that this measure was not only intended to reduce traffic and  leave more money in parents’ pockets, but the main aim was to instil in children’s mentality that the best mode of transport was collective transport.

The Prime Minister added that ‘flavour of the day’ is currently to speak against businesses, but despite this ‘we must never fall for that temptation’.
