Portugal’s health ministry said in a statement that doctors were monitoring and treating a patient in the Curry Cabral hospital in Lisbon, who is believed to have contracted the coronavirus during a recent stay in Wuhan.
The patient, whose identity was not disclosed, was described as being in a stable condition. The Portuguese ministry is awaiting the results of hospital tests to confirm the virus.
Reports in the Portuguese media indicate that there are around 20 Portuguese nationals in Wuhan and the Lisbon government is considering evacuating them, but for now it is awaiting developments.
