Suspicion of false medical certificate for Davide Astori pushed for re-opening of investigation into former Fiorentina’s player death

Investigations into the death of Davide Astori entered a new phase, through the opening of a new disturbing chapter.

According to the Italian Quotidiano Nazionale, , the Florence Public Prosecutor’s Office would have opened a second investigation that would cast other shadows on the work of Professor Giorgio Galanti, the last doctor to sign the sports suitability of the Viola captain, who died on the night of 4 March 2018 in his room hotel, on the eve of Udinese-Fiorentina.

According to the report, the prosecutor’s office would have found a certificate dated 10 July 2017, the same day that Astori received the ok from the doctors. In the document one would say that Davide’s heart had been subjected to “strain”, that is to say the examination that allows the calculation of the deformation of the heart muscle.

But for the prosecutor Antonino Nastasi that certificate would be false, it would have been done recently, “before or next April 19, 2019”, perhaps to reduce the “incompetence and negligence” disputed by Galanti himself.
