Swedish climate activist and Fridays for Future founder Greta Thunberg attends the joint House Foreign Affairs and House (Select) Climate Crisis committees hearing in the Rayburn House Office Building at the Capitol in Washington, DC, USA.
The hearing’s topic was ‘Voices Leading the Next Generation on the Global Climate Crisis’.
The teenage climate activist has urged lawmakers to act on the “existential crisis” of climate change. Thunberg criticized the US for being the “biggest carbon polluter” in history.
Thunberg was invited to the hearing along with three other young climate activists in order to provide the committees with the next generation’s perspective on climate change.
