Swiss leading indicator points to slowing economic growth

The KOF economic barometer declined for the fourth time in a row in September, pointing to a slowing Swiss recovery from the pandemic-related drop.

The barometer slipped to 110.6 points from 113.5 points in August, with the decline primarily due to foreign demand and the manufacturing sector, the KOF Swiss Economic Institute said in a statement on Thursday.

“The recovery of the Swiss economy in the wake of the pandemic is thus slowing somewhat but is likely to continue in the upcoming months, ” the institute said.
