About 500 people have been evacuated from the Sydney Opera House and surrounding area due to a gas leak.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said crews were on the scene at around 3:45pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Macquarie Street has been closed in both directions.
2GB reporter Tamara Wearne said a gas main had been hit during construction.
“People have been evacuated from the building, part of the Botanic Gardens and a nearby residential block,” she wrote on Twitter.
“NSW Police have blocked off the forecourt. Still a strong smell of gas.”
