Tanker driven ashore during a heavy storm near Odessa, Ukraine

The tanker ‘Delfi’, was driven ashore during a heavy storm near the Black Sea port of Odessa, Ukraine, on the evening of Friday 22 November 2019.

The tanker from Moldova broke the moorings due to a severe storm. The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration noted that the vessel had been in the territorial waters of Ukraine since May and there had been no fuel.

Three crew members on board were evacuated by Ukrainian rescuers and taken to the hospital.
