The European Parliament voices concern on risks of Chinese 5G networks

The European Parliament voiced “profound concern’ on the risks to IT security from 5G networks developed by Chinese firms and warned member States to make sure there is a “coordinated response from the EU”.

The resolution was presented by the ALDE, S&D, EOPP and Green caucuses and approved by a show of hands by the plenary session.

The MEPs urged member States to “refrain from introducing disproportionate unilateral measures that would fragment the single market”.
