“This is not what we had ordered” – Finland complains on Chinese-produced masks

Stories related to theft or abuse in the international distribution of medical supplies have been been fairly frequent in the recent rush to secure the necessary provision. Finland was the latest victim today.

It expected to received some two million masks from China but upon inspections authorities found they were not suitable for hospital use. However, Government will allocate these masks to homes for the elderly and simialr institutions.

Tomi Lounema, CEO of the Finnish National Emergency Supply Agency expressed his bewilderment: “The papers were fine. Everything looked good, but then the product wasn’t at all what was ordered.”

It is understood that these masks were bought directly from a Chinese company. Finalnd is not the first European country to express its disappointment at equipment procured from the Far East country.
