Travel operator Thomas Cook has announced plans to close 21 stores, resulting in 320 job losses, in an effort to address changing customer behaviour as more people book holidays online.
The company said this was part of plans to streamline its UK retail network under an efficiency programme.The shop closures will take the number of Thomas Cook outlets down to 566.
Thomas Cook pointed out that last year 64% of all its bookings in the UK were made on-line.
