Touching letter from the parents of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori on the anniversary of his death

Sport Mediaset gave tribute to Fiorentina captain Davide Astori. Astori was found dead in his hotel room a year ago at the age of 31 after a suspected cardiac arrest before an Italian league match.
It was on the 4th of March, 2018 when Astori met a tragic demise after he was found dead in his sleep in the early hours of the morning of the day when Fiorentina were set to play Udinese.
On the anniversary of his death, Sport Mediaset published a touching letter that his parents, Anna and Renato issued to coincide with the anniversary of their son’s death. In their letter, the parents say that words cannot describe what they have been through this past year and go on to say that their son would not recognize their voice as the pain they have been through changed it for ever.
Anna and Renato Astori write that many told them that their son was special which they confirm was always so since childhood but firm in spirit.
The Italian Serie A remembered Davide Astori during this week-ends games. At the 13th minute of every Serie A game of the week-end, a picture of Astori will appeared at the stadiums.
