Earthquake in Greece causes tremors across Malta

Tremors were felt across Malta on Friday morning, as a 5.8 magnitude earthquake described as ‘moderately strong’ was reported in Greece. 

The Times of Malta reported rooms shaking and waking people out of bed sprang up on social media from all across the island on Good Friday. 

According to the University of Malta’s Seismic Monitoring and Research Group, at around 8:10am local time, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake originated between Crete and the east Libyan border, followed by another one two minutes later
