A Donald Trump tweet seems to suggest that media houses reporting “negative” news about the presidency could have their press credentials forfeited.

“Just reported that, despite the tremendous success we are having with the economy & all things else, 91% of the Network News about me is negative (Fake)” wrote the President.

The tweet ended with a cryptic “Take away credentials?”.

Trump accused the “Fake News” organisations of working overtime to publish adverse stories about him. He also questioned the integrity of media with whom, the President says, he tries “so hard in working with.”

The tweet came after a pro-Trump cable news show Fox & Friends aired results from a study conducted by Media Research Centre, a right-wing media watchdog.

The research claims that 90 of appraisal remarks about Donald Trump during evening news shows by ABC, CBS and NBC were negative. The authors of the study say that the liberal media is locked in a “war” against the US President.

In October, Trump threatened to shut down NBC after the broadcaster reported that the President planned to increase the country’s nuclear arsenal.

“With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!” Tweeted Mr Trump.
