Two pilots die as aircraft fails to stop during emergency landing manoeuvre in Siberia

The AN-24 aircraft of the Angara Airlines was flying from Ulan-Ude to Nizhneangarsk this morning.

The accident happened on Thursday in the airport of Nizhneangarsk, Severobaikalsky District.

The An-24 passenger plane was doing an emergency landing after developing engine malfunction. During the manoeuvre, the plane failed to stop and hit a sewage treatment plant.

The two pilots of the An-24 died, while seven passengers were taken to hospital. The rest of the passengers, 43 survived. – reports TASS.
