In League D Azerbaijan missed the chance to move level on eight points with group leaders Kosovo after failing to make their opportunities count. Malta even threatened a shock win when Rowen Muscat turned in from close range before the interval, and although Araz Abdullayev equalised, visiting goalkeeper Andrew Hogg made several good saves to frustrate the hosts. The result nonetheless ended Malta’s promotion hopes.
