UK and France step up security near religious sites after New Zealand attacks

Neil Basu, the British National Policing lead for Counter-Terrorism, said in a statement that British counter-terrorism officers are ready to help their counterparts in New Zealand investigate the shootings at the Christchurch mosques which killed at least 49 people on Friday.

Basu also said patrols would be stepped up near mosques in the United Kingdom and advice would be given to communities from all faiths about how to protect themselves and places of worship

France is also stepping up security near religious sites after New Zealand attacks
with French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner on his official Twitter account declaring that patrols will be held around religious sites.
