trumo.jpegThe Democratic Party in the USA has filed a lawsuit against the Russian government, WikiLeaks and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign that says they conspired to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Documents filed in court allege that the campaign “gleefully accepted Russia’s help” to win the election. So far, President Donald Trump has repeatedly denied collusion, and Russia has also denied the allegations. Investigations are already under way.

US intelligence agencies previously concluded Moscow had tried to sway the election in Mr Trump’s favour.

The multimillion-dollar lawsuit (which can be accessed here) says that “In the Trump campaign, Russia found a willing and active partner in this effort” to mount “a brazen attack on American Democracy,” which included Russian infiltration of the Democratic Party computer network.

The Trump campaign, according to the lawsuit, “gleefully welcomed Russia’s help.”

The suit says that “preexisting relationships with Russia and Russian oligarchs” with Trump and Trump associates “provided fertile ground for [the] Russia-Trump conspiracy.” cropped-facebook-profile.png
