30, including children, injured as car is driven intentionally into crowd Carnival parade in Volkmarsentown, Germany (UPDATE)

30 persons have been injured after a car crashed into a Carnival parade in the German town of Volkmarsen. People gathered near a grocery store to watch the parade when the car hit the crowd, media reported.

No deaths have so far been reported after the vehicle drove into a Carnival parade in the German town of Volkmarsen. Police said they have taken the driver into custody.

Although the police confirmed that the case was intentional, it didn’t confirm whether this was a deliberate attack. 

Police shut down the area where the incident took place.

North Hesse Police’s official Twitter account said: “We are on site with a large contingent. The investigation is ongoing. As soon as reliable information is available, we will publish it here.”
