Malta: Government unveils €1.8 billion package for businesses

Business Today leads with the launch of a €1.8 billion rescue package for businesses. Government will pay €350 per employee on quarantine while companies that are requested to shut down will receive two days’ pay per week for each employee.

Another story says that Bank of Valletta registered aver €89 million in pre-tax profit last year as customer deposits increased by 2.1 percent to reach €10.6 billion. CEO Rich Hunkin said that 2019 was ‘pivotal’ for the bank.
