In UK, self-employed will be able to claim grant worth 80% of their average monthly profit

The UK chancellor announced that self-employed people will be able to claim a grant worth 80% of their average monthly profits – up to £2,500 a month, Sky News reports.

Rishi Sunak said the measures would be in place for at least three months and amounted to “one of the most generous packages in the world”.

BBC reports that the 80% wage subsidies for staff are aimed to retain jobs.

Mr Sunak said the grants would be available to people across the UK for at least three months, and longer if necessary.
