Switzerland starts lifting coronavirus restrictions

Switzerland from today started relaxing the restrictions that were introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Attending masses is still banned in Switzerland due to the ongoing pandemic of the COVID-19 disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

But the country is to start loosening the coronavirus measures from 11 May 2020 on. Classroom teaching at primary and lower secondary schools will again be permitted. Shops, markets, museums, libraries, and restaurants will be able to reopen under strict compliance with precautionary measures.

Switzerland has reported 30,305 cases of the disease, according to the John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, with 1,833 deaths.
