The Malta Independent carries a statement by the Office of the Prime Minister that Identity Malta gives “equal opportunity” for banks to address IIP agents. The newspaper sent questions after PN MEP candidate Dione Borg said that Identity Malta recommended the services of Pilatus Bank to prospective buyers.

The Times reports that a UN convention upholding the right of informed participation by children, was ratified by Malta in 1990 but has still not been transposed into national legislation.   The National Institute for Childhood will present a document in parliament this week.

The Malta Independent quotes Gżira Mayor Conrad Borg Manche who is proposing mechanised underground parking which could contain all call registered to residents of the town. The chairman of the Ambjent Malta board also spoke about green walls and roofs in urban centres.

Another story in The Times says that PD MPs Godfrey Farrugia and Marlene Farrugia have called on PN Leader Adrian Delia to suspend himself after reports that he was linked to a police investigation. In reaction the PN said that PD leader Godfrey Farrugia is not credible after he voted against a no-confidence motion in Minister Konrad Mizzi in 2016.

L-Orizzont quotes Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who said at a political event on Sunday that the NAO report on the Electrogas power station released last week gave a positive review of the biggest infrastructural project ever in Malta.

In-Nazzjon covers an address by PN Leader Adrian Delia at an event commemorating Raymond Caruana. Delia said that the young man was not killed accidentally but because the government of the time had created a climate of oppression. The PN Leader made an appeal for unity to safeguard democracy.

L-Orizzont speaks to the family of three-year-old Kane Debattista who suffers from a serious condition. His parents say they are in no mood to celebrate the festive season but they will stop at nothing to make the child happy. In another story, L-Orizzont quotes Health Minster Chris Fearne that the new IVF law has helped nine women to become pregnant.

Newsbook reports that no one was injured after a small fire in the garage of Smart Supermarket. The report says that the fire started in a room which is normally used for storage.
