A helicopter crash landed onto the roof of a building in midtown Manhattan and then caught fire on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
One person died in the crash, according to officials.
The crash occurred atop 787 Seventh Avenue, a 54-story building located between West 51st and West 52nd streets, at the north end of Times Square.

The building, known as the Axa Equitable Center, has tenants including BNP Paribas, Citibank and international law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
Fire trucks and police vehicle swarmed outside the building. Gov. Andrew Cuomo was also at the scene.
In a tweet, the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) said: “FDNY members are operating on scene at 787 7th Avenue in Manhattan, helicopter crash landing.”
Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) officials confirmed the incident to multiple news outlets.
