Photo Story: The first anniversary from the Thailand cave rescue

Members of the Wild Boar soccer team, who were rescued from the Tham Luang cave, offer flowers and fruits to honor a statue of retired Thai Navy Seal Officer Saman Kunan, who died in the Tham Luang cave rescue operation.

A religious ceremony was held to mark the first anniversary of their rescue operation from the cave, at a compound near Tham Luang cave in Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai province, Thailand, 24 June 2019.

The Thai Wild Boar youth soccer team spent 18 days deep inside the flooded Tham Luang cave in Thailand after becoming trapped on 23 June 2018. All of the thirteen team members were rescued in a large-scale rescue operation.
