Former Guns N’ Roses drummer hospitalised after stabbing himself in stomach

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler has been taken to hospital after stabbing himself in the stomach, TMZ has said.

The 54-year-old was reportedly treated for non-life threatening injuries after the incident, which happened at his home in Los Angeles.

TMZ reports “Adler has openly struggled with substance abuse for decades. He was kicked out of Guns N’ Roses over his drug addiction in 1990 … but was later inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the group in 2012.”

Adler was later kicked out of the group in 1990 over his drug use, according to Rolling Stone. However, he was able to rejoin the band after signing a contract that he would refrain from drugs.

He was then fired again from the group that same year after his addiction grew out of hand.

Five years later, Adler was arrested at his Calabasas home on a felony charge of heroin possession, the Los Angeles Times reported at the time.
