Corporate Dispatch Morning Briefing

Good morning

These are the headlines from Malta and around the world.

The Times quotes Louis Galea who said that PN leader must now ‘walk the talk’ and fulfil his pledge to reach out to detractors. Meanwhile, said the newly appointed head of the party’s reform process, critics must also engage with Delia after he was reconfirmed leader.

The Malta Independent speaks to PN MP Beppe Fenech Adami about the General Council vote on Saturday. The former Deputy Leader said that every voter had the best interest of the party in mind and that their common target is winning the next election.

The Times reports that a police raid on a Ħal Far migrants’ section left residents with destroyed valuables and broken doors. The police confirmed moving in on migrants from Sub-Saharan countries with Italian documents.

The Malta Independent carries an interview with Anti-Poverty Forum secretary Andre Bonello who said that higher food prices, such as the recent increase in milk, has an impact on those living on the poverty line.

In-Nazzjon covers an interview by PN leader Adrian Delia on Sunday who said that the result of the General Council vote was a positive outcome not for him personally, but for the party as a whole.

L-Orizzont speaks to Victim Support Unit head Inspector Sylvana Gafà who says that more than half the cases the until deals with are related to domestic violence. Gafà urges victims to speak out and seek help.

In-Nazzjon follows a protest held on Sunday against the ‘environmental massacre’ that will be caused by the Central Link project. More than 1,000 people took part, tying themselves to trees in Attard.

L-Orizzont quotes Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who congratulated PN leader Adrian Delia on ‘defeating Simon Busuttil’ and hope he now recovers control of the party. In another story the paper reports on a ‘deafening silence’ by PN MPs following the internal vote.
