Photo Story: The Mukha masks of Assam

 

Masks which are known as Mukha locally are displayed during an exhibition in Guwahati, India.

The roots to Mukha, the masks made locally, could be traced to Majuli, the world’s largest river island and is confined mostly to Assam’s traditional Vaishnavite theatre.
