Grech questions balance of power in Labour, hints at new scandal
Opposition leader Bernard Grech questioned the balance of power within the Labour Party, renewing his call for Prime Minister Robert Abela to dismiss Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri. During an interview on NET TV, Grech argued that Camilleri exerts undue influence over Abela, raising concerns about the Prime Minister’s authority. He cautioned Abela, stating, “As long as Camilleri remains stronger than you and you fail to remove him, he will continue to dominate and act as he pleases.” Grech also hinted at the emergence of “a new scandal” involving Camilleri, citing a report published in Il-Mument. The report alleged bribery in the allocation of mooring spaces at Mġarr Harbour, highlighting irregularities and implicating the Gozo Minister in the process. While noting that further details are yet to surface, Grech described the allegations as reflective of deeper issues within the Labour administration. (Times of Malta)
