Arrests Made in Drug Importation Case

Three men have been arrested in connection with an alleged drug importation case involving cannabis. The police reported that the suspects, two from North Macedonia and one from Bulgaria, were apprehended after officers intercepted a package containing two kilograms of cannabis, valued at €15,000, arriving from overseas. The package was addressed to one of the men in Marsascala. (The Malta Independent)

UN Security Council tenure concluded with pride- Deputy PM

Malta concludes its two-year tenure on the UN Security Council with “a profound sense of pride,” Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg stated on Sunday. Reflecting on a term marked by Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine and conflict in the Middle East, Borg highlighted Malta’s role as a voice for the vulnerable and an advocate for peace. “Malta departs from the UNSC table with immense pride, having made meaningful contributions to upholding the principles of the UN Charter and honouring the trust placed in us by the international community,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
