US military strikes 3 more boats in the Pacific Ocean, killing 8

The U.S. military reported on Monday that it struck three additional suspected drug-smuggling vessels in the Eastern Pacific, resulting in eight fatalities.

In a post on X, U.S. Southern Command said the operations were directed by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Joint Task Force Southern Spear. “Intelligence confirmed that the vessels were travelling along known narcotics-trafficking routes and were engaged in illicit activity,” the post stated.

Officials detailed that eight men described as “narco-terrorists” were killed across the three boat, three on the first, two on the second, and three on the third. Southern Command also shared a video appearing to show the strikes.

These operations are the latest in a series of deadly U.S. military actions in the Pacific, which under the Trump administration have killed at least 95 people in 25 strikes.
