The Supreme Court is due to rule on 19 September whether the suspension of parliament by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was lawful.
The judges are ruling on two appeals: one by campaigner Gina Miller’s team and one by the government contesting a Scottish court ruling.
The lawyer for the government is arguing the decision to suspend Parliament is not something a court of law can rule on.
On Tuesday the court was told the PM suspended Parliament to avoid the risk of MPs “frustrating or damaging” his Brexit plans.
