Sydney’s Bondi Beach was closed on Monday afternoon after as thousands of Sydneysiders flocked to the seaside to enjoy warm public holiday weather.
The decision to close the beach came as the state of New South Wales – home to Bondi – celebrates its 10th straight day with no new locally acquired coronavirus cases – its longest stretch without community transmission since the pandemic began.
