Christmas tourism to Gozo increasing: The Headlines – L-Orizzont

L-Orizzont speaks to Gozo Channel Chairman Joe Cordina who said that indications are that tourism to Gozo over the festive period was better than the year before. He said that, in collaboration with the Ministry, Gozo was turned into a Christmas island.

The paper announces that the number of people on social benefits has been reduced to less than 7,000 for the first time in history. There were 6,928 people registered for social benefits in December, including single mothers and the unemployed.

Another story reveals that the Malta International Airport can be the first to accept liquids in hand luggage following a €2.5 million investment in new screening technology. The paper says that the new system will facilitate the onboarding process and reduce flight delays.
