These are the main stories from Malta’s portals.

The man accused of carrying out a double-murder in Għaxaq was brought before court today. MaltaToday says that Joseph Bonnici, 38, shot his sister and mother in the head then smashed their skulls with a mallet. The prosecution said that the murder was pre-meditated.

TVM follows up on the story of the shooting in Birżebbuġa on Saturday night. It says the killed man has been identified as Lassine Cisse Souleymane, 42, from the Ivory Coast while the two other men who were shot are both from Ghana. Police say that the motive has not yet been established.

Nationalist Party Leader Adrian Delia told The Malta Independent that he was not aware that MPs Kristy Debono and Hermann Schiavone had met with Yorgen Fenech, the owner of once-secret company 17 Black. Delia said he would speak to them about the matter.

Air Malta has plans to expand its routes to Ghana and India, Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi announced in parliament. The Times says that the national carrier will be flying to the long-haul destinations using new Airbus A321 aircraft.

Over 125,000 tourists visited Malta in February, up 2.3 percent over the same month in 2018. One News quotes figures by the National Statistics Office calculating the total spend by visitors at more than €71 million.

Net News says that Health Minister Chris Fearne dodged questions about the persons responsible for the decision to remove religious symbols from health centres. The minister said that an investigation into the directive is underway.

Inmates from the Corradino Correctional Facilities visited Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary in Gozo, report Newsbook. During homily, bishop Mario Grech spoke about the need of society to help inmates integrate once they serve their sentences.

Stella Maris College in Gżira set a new record for the biggest figolla in Malta. LovinMalta says that the 6-metre traditional pastry was prepared by students and staff and proceeds from its were donated to Puttinu Cares.

The Shift News reveals that the outfit worn by Prime Minister’s wife Michelle Muscat at the swearing-in ceremony of President George Vella on Thursday was designed by Mary Grace Pisani. The website says Pisani was at the centre of a scandal in 2016 over claims of unpaid work by inmates who produced her dresses.
