Main story:

The Malta Independent says that two AFM soldiers, Francesco Fenech, 21, and Lorin Scicluna, 22, were charged with the murder of Lassane Cisse in the drive-by shooting in Triq il-Ġebel, Ħal Far, last month. The Times says that the soldiers pleaded not guilty but no request for bail was made. In the same incident, two other migrants were wounded with shots from a firearm – Ibrahim Beh from Guinea and Modammed Jallow from Gambia. In-Nazzjon also follows the case against Fenech and Scicluna presided by magistrate Josette Demicoli. The soldiers are being accused racially motivated crimes including murder, attempted murder, and a hit-and-run incident. L-Orizzont says that the accused appeared calm in court while the charges were being brought against them. At one point, though, Scicluna’s eyes were filled with anguish when he saw his mother in tears, reports the paper.
