Bomb disposal officers detonated the item after it was found in the mailroom on Wednesday morning.

The BBC reports that Police Scotland is now “working closely together” with officers investigating finds at Heathrow and London City airports and Waterloo station.

The Guardian reports how buildings at two British universities had to be evacuated after reports of suspicious packages less than 24 hours after parcel bombs were discovered at two airports and a train station in London.

Police cordoned off parts of the University of Essex and evacuated some buildings after being alerted to a suspect package on Wednesday. The same happened at the University of Glasgow after a suspicious item was found in the main campus mailroom.
