Elon Musk threatens to launch ‘America Party’ if domestic policy ‘megabill’ passes

Elon Musk has reignited his criticism of the GOP’s sweeping domestic policy bill, vowing to form a new political party if the legislation is passed. In a post on X, Musk declared that the “America Party will be formed the next day” should President Donald Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful bill” become law.

Calling the bill “insane,” Musk accused both Republicans and Democrats of acting as a “uniparty” that ignores the people’s interests. His latest remarks come as the Senate prepares for a final vote on the legislation, which he claims will explode the national debt and hurt the renewable energy industry.

Musk, who recently left a federal government role, has shifted to direct political activism. Over the weekend, he warned Republican lawmakers who support the bill that they risk losing their primaries. “They should hang their head in shame,” he wrote, promising to use his influence to campaign against them.

He also criticised members of the House Freedom Caucus, questioning their principles for supporting what he called a “debt slavery bill.” Musk’s renewed attacks signal a deeper rift with the GOP—and a potential move to reshape the U.S. political landscape with his own party.
