Europe Votes: European turnout highest since 1979

Preliminary figures suggest that in aggregate, Europe is seeing the highest turnout in EU election participation in the last 20 years, and the first significant increase since the first EU elections in 1979.

The European Parliament Spokesperson Jaume Duch said, stands at around 50% and may increase up to 52% once participation figures for the elections in the UK are confirmed.
