Gujarat State Amusement Park Fire: Tragic Death Toll and Prime Minister’s Condolences

A tragic fire engulfed a bustling amusement park in Gujarat State, western India on Saturday, claiming the lives of at least 27 individuals, including four young children. The local authorities are deeply saddened by the devastating loss of life and are taking all necessary measures to handle the situation with care and empathy.

In the wake of the incident, forensic experts are painstakingly collecting DNA samples from the victims, as some of them were severely burnt and cannot be readily identified. “The toll in the fire incident is now 27. Police have arrested two persons, and the investigation is continuing,” stated local government official Prabhav Joshi to AFP news agency on Sunday morning.

Authorities have also detained at least four individuals for questioning and have cautioned that the number of casualties may increase as the investigation progresses.

This heart-wrenching tragedy struck the city of Rajkot, prompting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to share his condolences, stating that the “fire tragedy in Rajkot saddened us all.” Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time.
