Irish annual house price growth hits 14.4%, highest in six years

DUBLIN, Feb 16 (Reuters) – Irish residential property prices posted their highest annual growth in over six years in December, climbing 14.4% in 12 months, data showed on Wednesday.

But the rate of monthly growth eased to 1.1% from 1.3% the previous month and was down from 2.2% in August, the Central Statistics Office said.

Ireland has fallen well short of meeting housing demand each year since a massive property crash more than a decade ago, but supply is beginning to pick up after COVID-19 lockdowns. Overall, prices are 4% below the credit-fuelled 2007 peak.
