Jeffrey Epstein’s autopsy report finds broken bones in his neck

Disgraced U.S. financier Jeffrey Epstein’s autopsy report found that he had several broken bones in his neck, the Washington Post reported.

Such breaks can happen to people who hang themselves, the Post reported, citing unidentified sources familiar with the autopsy results. However, the newspaper said such breaks can also happen to people who are strangled.

Epstein, a multi-millionaire and a convicted sexual offender, was facing a slew of sex trafficking charges. He was found dead in a federal prison in New York City on Saturday

The US justice department said on Tuesday that two guards assigned to watch Epstein at the New York jail in which he died have been placed on leave and the warden temporarily reassigned.

Donald Trump said earlier he wanted a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death, which came while the financier was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Epstein, who once counted Trump and Clinton as friends, was arrested on 6 July and had been on suicide watch, but he was not on watch at the time of his death.
