Coronavirus, Lavazza donates €10 million for emergency services in Piemonte to finance projects which sustain health, education and the most susceptible citizens within the region
In order to address the health crisis which Italy is currently facing, Lavazza Group is donating €10 million to finance projects which sustain health, education and the most susceptible citizens Piemonte.
In the Group’s words, “this is a positive gesture, underlining our concrete commitment. We are convinced that a joint and immediate contribution by everyone will see us through this crisis and can allow our country to move forward”.
Six out of these 10 million will be given to the fundraiser #IOCISONO Regione Piemonte-Sostegno emergenza Coronavirus, to purchase whatever is required to support the health infrastructure and front line personnel, in order to address the situation.
Another €3 million will be donated to Fondazione La Stampa-Specchio dei tempi, which was one of the first organisations to get involved in supplying new equipment and sanitary material require for intensive care and emergency services in hospitals, as well as state of the art apparatus which can speed up testing at the Amedeo di Savoia hospital in Torino, to provide free sanitizer kits to schools that request these in Torino, and to deliver emergency provisions to the elderly with mobility issues and who are facing financial problems. Another million euro will be allocated to a number of entities and associations which are active in the region, in order to aid the most feeble disadvantaged groups of the population.
