Luxol St Andrews today unveiled their new coach and line-up for the 2019-2020 season. The club will be led by Brian Said who is returning to the club after being instrumental as a player/coach when the club was last promoted to the Premier division in season 2014/2015.

Luxol St Andrews made these announcements during a press conference held at the club’s premises where it also unveiled that FIAT will be the new sponsor for the new season.

Addressing the media, Brian Said explained how this season will be a transitional one for the club.

“We had a very positive pre-season and a lot of work has been done to rebuild a competitive and challenging squad. This year’s team has been built on a mix of experienced players as well as a number of young promising talent from the clubs’ nurseries as well as from other clubs, complemented by a number of foreigners who also formed part of the team last year together with Marko Potezica who has been signed recently to bolster the squad further.”

The Club’s new signings include Ian Azzopardi, ex National Team player, Matthew Bartolo who played for several years in the Premier Division, goalkeeper Nicholas Grima from Melita, Nick Bradshaw a St. Andrews player returning to the club, Luke Borg, Gary Muscat and Clive Psaila on loan from Sliema, Daniel Curmi a young promising Maltese player from the United States, Dean Xuereb from Sliema and William Camilleri another St. Andrews player returning to the club.

“There’s a lot of enthusiasm in the club and we are eager to achieve results through the experience of the older players who will prove vital to help bridge the gap with the younger players,” added coach Brian Said.

Mr Jonathan Cremona on behalf of Motors Inc, importers and distributors of FIAT in Malta said that the sponsorship to the Luxol St Andrews falls within Motors Inc’s strategy to support local talent as well as the community at large.
