Transport Malta has set up Aircraft Leasing Malta with the aim of offering information and assistance to aircraft rental companies which presently register nearly all their aircraft in three countries – Ireland, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Prime Minister Robert Abela stated that as a result of this important development, Malta is closing up the final link in the aviation economic niche within which the island wants to continue to become a hub.
