Malta bans entry to Open Arms rescue vessel – Reports

The Government of Malta has banned the Open Arms vessel,  of the Proactiva NGO, from entering its territorial waters, TgCom reports.

Among the 121 migrants on board there would also be four children, including two nine-month twins.

The ship is located about 60 miles west of Malta and about 30 miles east of Lampedusa.

The crew aboard the Open Arms rescued 53 adults and two children aboard a small boat on August 1st, then rescued another 69 people while two pregnant women were landed on Saturday.

Overall there are 32 minors.
