Malta: Concerns over growing truancy patterns

The Times says that students missed an average of just under 12 days of school in the 2017-2018, continuing an upward trend in unauthorised absenteeism over the years. Authorities fear that the problem may grow when schools reopen next year.

Another story quotes an ongoing study which shows a decline in people’s sense of happiness and life satisfaction as the Covid-19 situation persists. The mean level of happiness went down to five out of ten compared to seven, three weeks earlier.
